Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i Pledge to “Be A Voice” for Young Keiki
Troops advocate on behalf of the Be My Voice! Hawai‘i campaign at the state capitol
Honolulu, HI—Good Beginnings Alliance and the Girl Scouts of Hawai’i are joining forces to communicate to legislators why it’s important for our young children to be safe, healthy and ready to succeed in school, while also building momentum for the Be My Voice! Hawai‘i campaign. The Girl Scouts are passionate about being role models to younger girls, and on March 13, 2012, they will visit lawmakers in their respective offices to discuss their commitment to being a voice for young children. The Girl Scouts will impress upon legislators the need to put keiki first.
Drawing upon their leadership roles in the Girl Scouts, troop members are informed and motivated to make a difference in their communities, starting with the rally at the state capitol. “We believe that all children deserve to have a voice, and what better way to illustrate this point than by hearing this message directly from our local Girl Scouts,” says Good Beginnings Alliance Executive Director Elisabeth Chun.
